The following resource looks at the works of Robert Francis High Diver and Dianne Ackerman Losing the Game. Both poems have been chosen as they present intense imagery through particular figurative language techniques such as, similes and metaphors.

Diane Ackerman - 'Losing the images that come alive within High Diver and explain the meanings and effects that the writer is trying to convey.
Furthermore, students are instructed within the Prezi slideshow to watch and listen to the audio recorded PowerPoint presentation of High Diver. This presentation tells the poem through visual imagery; the text from the poem is included for students to follow along.
